Thoughts on aging with and illness

when i was in my 20's and early 30's it was easy for me to workout, go to school and work full time. now I can barely focus, my body is either in pain that i can deal with, in so much pain I want to cry, or floating like i am high. there is no pattern to any of it. this weekend i helped friends with outdoor clean up even though i was in pain i had the energy to help. the next day and still today i can barley function as i am beyond tired ( even though i slept for more the 10 hours the past 2 nights) and can barely focus and feel sort of numb all over. while i would love to go back in time and have the energy i once had and the lack of pain i know that all I can do is accept where i am at this moment and work to make the next one full of happiness and acceptance. I can change how I approach managing my illnesses yet the changes will take time or not appear at all.

This is is a snap shot of my life, this is a snap shot of all individuals with chronic illness. we do not want pity, or ablest preaching what we ask for is understanding. we ask that you listen to what it is we need in this moment knowing that in the next we may need something else.
if anyone knows me they know that I am a proud person who does not ask for help easily. I seek out information from various source to form my own thoughts on topics especially the illnesses that i am dealing with. so I do not need to be told what to do or that natural is better, i know better than some that each person has to walk their own path in life and this includes how they deal with their health.
so yes I long for the days when I could go to school ( college), work a full shift then go out dancing for hours with friends. Yet I know that acceptance of this present moment is the only way to find happiness and joy that will move me forward in life so that at some point I might be able to dance again.

Simple Daily Practices to stay happy

Hello all.

Well we are still in a time of great change and will remain here for some time to come. Since many of us are home where we are staying safe I thought that I would provide a few simple reminders on how to stay or find happiness and peace during this time.

1. OPEN THE CURTAINS : let light into your home. Many studies have proven that natural light kills germs and some viruses, hence it helps keep your immune system strong which keeps you healthy which keeps you happy. Further, there are many studies that prove natural light staves off depression. So this is especially important if you suffer from depression.

2. OPEN A WINDOW: as warmer weather arrives opening windows is the best way to welcome the new season as well as to allow fresh air into your home. Breathing stagnate air is how we get sick plus listening to the sounds of life all around helps remind us that even as we are isolated we are not alone.

3. EXERCISE: this one is so important and easy. If you can go for a walk or a run, do yoga, Pilates, lift weights ( or soup cans), pace in your  home, etc .We all know of the benefits of exercise so move.

4. LAUGH: Deep pure laughter helps boost the immune system, strengthen the core and it brings one into the present moment. It is in the present moment that we can access the best information, we are awake, alert and aware of what is going on now. So there is not time to project into the future or bring up past wounds. Find ways to laugh for as long as you can each day. The more we laugh the less we stress and the easier it is to be kind and compassionate to others.

5. FIND A HOBBY YOU LOVE. Each day engage in a hobby that brings you joy. Tapping into your creativity will bring happiness and joy  to your day which will help you bring happiness and joy to all around you. Our Creativity is where we connect with the ideas that will bring change to our lives. Right now is a great time to shake off stagnation and move life giving energy through our bodies as well as our communities.

I know that there are many things right now that are grim but there are also many things that bring joy. If you find the joy and happiness in these changing times you will be better prepared to help bring about a new way of living on Grandmother Earth. It could be easy to give up and slip into despair yet it is just as easy and takes less energy to elevate into joy. Which will you choose?

Finding Peace in Changing times

We are currently living in a time of great change. There are changes in all aspects of human life from economic to political to how we interact with our fellow humans on a daily basis. The current Corona Virus Pandemic has been sweeping the Globe touching on many aspects of our human existence. Here in the United States information has been slow to come as well as unverified at best. The CDC has been slow to act as well as our current President has been giving out unverified and at times false information. I am one of many who questions his ability to lead this Nation at a time of change, at a time when accurate information is needed most. We are living at a time when our health as a human as well as a Nation is being challenged hence it is a time where swift action is needed. Yet this post is not about my political beliefs it is about how to find peace when there is so much chaos on all fronts.

So how does one find Peace when there is so much going on around them. Well there are many saying about this all of which focus on how to use your inner locus of control to stand in the middle of the chaos and see what is really going on. In my shamanic community there are a few things at play one being able to ride the waves of chaos with out allowing it to pull you under- think of a surfer riding an energetic wave of change. This happens all the time at this moment it has greater momentum and energy behind it, hence it is a great time to practice how to ride the wave.  Then there is the concept of the dream ( not going to touch too much on this at this time) in short there are 4 levels of dreaming one of which is the personal another is that of the collective. At this time both are being brought into play. The collective is being asked to decide what direction we wish to go in. This has been happening on for a long time which just is right now we are seeing aspect of society in a new light and individual pockets of society that had been isolated from some of these aspects are having them presented to them. Then there is our relationship with our bodies and the memories they hold that is coming into play. We are being asked to take better care of our physical bodies so that we can participate in life.

While there are many others this is not the time nor place to delve into them. Now is this the time to learn how to respond rather than react and that comes from finding peace in the changes. So how have I found peace in these changing times.

1. Peace is found in remembering what I can effect or control. I can not control how others think, feel or react yet I can control those things in my self. Taking  a deep breath before speaking, remembering that nothing others do is about me and then speaking from that understanding. I can control how I view the situation and how much of my time and energy I give to it. I can either allow myself to be swept up in the chaos or I can surf the wave and see the joy in the movement. Controlling the energy in my home by keeping it clean and de-cluttering is a way for me to find peace.

2. Carrying water and chopping wood. This saying is all about returning to the basics of my practices or any practices. Once a human finds enlightenment they do not throw away the tools that got them there, instead they have a deeper understanding of their importance. That said I am breathing, closing my eyes and feeling what is going on in my body and adjusting accordingly. I am meditating, sending out healing energy to those willing to receive, and doing other self care practices. I am burning sage and incense to bring good smells to my home as well as cleanse the over all energy

3. SELF CARE is especially important when health is being attacked. So no matter what is going on in my day I am taking the steps needed to care for m body and mind. As stated already I am meditating and doing breath work.  I am also separating my self from life taking comments, energies and media. Turning off my notifications, staying away from news sources that are unverified or just life draining in general. At this time maintaining my life force is vital to staying healthy and at peace.  This includes keeping my mind free from clutter and life draining chatter.
So please do all that you can to take care of your self mentally and physically.

4.Taking the long view. This means that while I will stay grounded in the present moment I will remember that this is just a moment in human history. That events like this one have happened before and will happen again. I have no control ( see how it all comes back to 1) over the greater out come only on how I deal with the now. Seeing the waves rolling in and out and the patterns left behind helps bring peace and allow me to have joy in the now.

This moment will pass you have to decide will  you allow the outside world to pull you into chaos and life draining energies or will you look within and find the peace of this moment.

Introduction

Greetings Beautiful Beings of the internet. 😊I am Transcendent Heart, or Marsha, a REIKI Master/Teacher with 10 years of experience, a Coptic Teacher and a Student of Shamanism. It is my great desire and intention to share with all of you thoughts, pondering's and insights that come to me as I walk this journey called life. My path here has not always been fun or easy, nor do I foresee the future being all Rose petals and Champagne, which I think is the point. Life is a place for learning and growing, so why not have some hardship along the way. Yet as I continue to walk my path  I find that it is when I am in a place of peace and joy that the greatest insights come, Learning through pleasure as my Teacher would say.

In addition to my personal studies I have formal training in Philosophy which adds a wonderful perspective to my life and how I approach new information. Skepticism often gets a bad rep yet is simply sitting in a place where one takes time to reflect upon the information being presented, comparing it to what is already known and running it through the womb, heart and mind in order to see it rings true. ( The process of using the womb, heart and mind will be discussed at a later date.)

There are many spiritual teachers all of whom have something to offer so one would ask how am I different or what is my unique perspective. Well I would have to say that my perspective is very feminine in nature. Not just in that I am comfortable being female but in that I am receptive to the universe in all of its forms. To be feminine is simply to hold a greater amount of feminine energy which allows me to birth thoughts, creations, and well anything that humans create. Plus I reserve the right to change my mind at any time. I do foresee times when what I present to you will be modified as new information and insights become available. A flexible mind is nimble mind which holds no authority over anything it simply allows information to pass though its gates holding on only as long the information increases life giving energy, or put another way only as long as it serves a purpose.

Good Bye for now. I will share more soon.
